Question:
My six month old daughter has a diaper rash that just does not seem to go away. We have tried everything that has been recommended, but it just does not seem to be getting any better. Any suggestions?

Answer:
Yes. I recommend two things to add to your daughter's diet: Bifidobacteria bifidus (the friendly bacteria in infants) and biotin. Biotin is a B vitamin that functions in the manufacture and utilization of fats and amino acids. Without biotin, body metabolism and skin health is severely impaired. Since intestinal bacteria provide a large portion of the human biotin supply, infants are susceptible to biotin deficiency. The medical literature cites several case histories that have demonstrated successful treatment of seborrheic dermatitis (cradle cap) with biotin by giving the mother the biotin (if the baby is being breast-fed) or by giving it directly to the infant. Recent reports show that chronic, intractable diaper rash also responds to biotin supplementation (1 mg daily). In addition to the biotin, I would also recommend taking Bifidobacteria bifidus. One to two billion live bacteria daily for one month should help establish the bacteria that can produce biotin in the intestines.

BodyBalance: MineralCheckMineralCheck is a safe, easy-to-use, and reliable screen that uses a small hair sample to measure your mineral and toxic metal levels. Hair samples show the long-term accumulation of minerals and heavy metals in your system. Hair is nourished from your bloodstream where minerals and toxics are found. This non-invasive and inexpensive screen provides you with the accuracy of a laboratory analysis without leaving the comfort of your own home. Exposure to heavy metals is linked to many different health conditions including high blood pressure, depression, attention deficit, disorder, and many neurological diseases. Even mild toxicity can lead to headache, fatigue, and impaired ability to think or concentrate.
